YouTube has added the ability to download video clips for offline viewing. This feature is great for people who don’t have a steady internet connection or are trying to cut back on their data usage. It’s also a smart way to save a video that has a lot of replay value.
The first step is to find the video you want to download. You can do this by searching for it using the magnifying glass icon on the YouTube app or searching through categories at the bottom of the screen, like Trending or subscriptions. Once you’ve found the video, tap it to open it. Then, click the Share icon (the arrow in the top-right corner of the screen) and then tap Copy link. You can also click the Download button, which will download a MP4 version of the video to your device.
You’ll see a pop-up with the words “Video downloaded” at the bottom of the screen. After a few moments, the video will decode and generate a list of different output format and quality options. You can select the one you want to download, then give the file a name and select a location for it. When you’re done, the video will be saved to your computer and be available for playback whenever you want.
If you’re a YouTube Premium subscriber, Youtube Video Downloader the process is even easier. When you search for a video, the option to download it will appear underneath the search bar. If you don’t have a subscription, you’ll need to select the download option before you can save it.
It’s important to note that the download feature only works for videos with a Creative Commons license or are uploaded to YouTube specifically as royalty-free media. This means that you can’t download and watch videos that aren’t in the public domain or were uploaded without the creator’s permission.
If you’re an iPhone or iPad user, there are several third-party software options for downloading YouTube videos. One popular choice is Gihosoft TubeGet, which can download 1080P and 4K high-definition video, as well as synchronize multiple language subtitles and cover images. Once you’ve downloaded a video, it will appear in the Downloads section of your Documents app. If you want to view it outside of the app, you can drag the file over Photos > Camera Roll.
